Introduction
The College has prepared a Perspective Plan for the period of 5 years commencing form academic year 2013 to academic year 2018 by taking into consideration the quality indicators of seven criterions determined by NAAC. In the preparation of the Perspective Plan, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college has taken initiatives. Inputs from all stakeholders, their expectations, management policies and goals and objectives of the college are considered as a base for formulation of the perspective plan. The IQAC plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of the institution and suggests quality measures. Feedback from all the stakeholders and the recommendations of the IQAC are taken into consideration and innovations are incorporated in perspective plan. Student feedback mechanism, introduction of teachers training programmes, faculty improvement programmes, encouragement to teachers for research are some of the measures taken for at priority quality sustenance and enhancement as a strategy. The draft of Perspective Plan has been discussed, reviewed and approved in the Governing Body of Dhemaji Girls’ College. It is our sincere efforts to prepare the framework for our collective efforts directed towards the attainment of our goals and objectives and keep our self ahead the contemporaries.
1. Curricular Aspects
1.1 Conduct of Academic Audit
The college shall conducts academic audit of the college in every five years about the performance in academic, curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular, research and extension, augmentation of academic infrastructure, student progression and innovative practices by inviting peer team of expert educationalists and action shall be initiated on their recommendations.
1.2 Strengthening of Existing Programmes

Taking into account the students’ demand and need of career oriented speciality programmes, we shall strengthen the following programmes by introducing the additional programmes.

1.5 Augmentation of Academic Infrastructure
1.5.1 Total digitization of the college library.
1.5.2 Construction of a separate building for the central library.

1.5.4 The Language Laboratory of the college shall be upgraded both in terms of intake capacity and technological facilities.
1.5.5 Moreover, there is a long term plan to initiate the construction and upgrade of laboratories, of Education, Computing Laboratory, Gymkhana, Gymnasium, offices for N.S.S., N.C.C., etc.
1.6 Qualitative Strengthening of Existing Programmes
1.6.1 Enhanced use of ICT in Teaching Learning System: The College shall increase the use of innovative teaching and learning resources like OHPs, LCDs, power point presentations, models, internet connections, smart classrooms, Interactive Language Laboratory, Computing Laboratory, Commerce and Management Resource Centre, Science Resource Centre, etc.
1.7 Seminars and Workshops
1.7.1 Organizations of Seminars and Workshops: Academicians, industrialists, subject experts from other institutions and universities shall be invited as resource persons and shall make an effort to get acquainted with the emerging techniques and trends of the industries and subject matters keeping track with the contemporary developments in the fields.
1.7.2 Development of Linkages: With a view to execute curricula, we shall develop the linkages with academic institutions and industries.
2. Teaching-Learning Process
2.1 Innovations to be introduced in Admission Process and Student Profile: Attendance of student for each lecture shall be maintained and reported to the designated committee. The students having more than 75% absentee shall be identified and their attendance report shall be communicated to the parents and necessary action shall be taken against them according to rules.
2.2 Strengthening of Innovations and Discipline in Teaching-Learning Process
2.2.1 Faculty Handbook: Faculty handbook shall be provided to each faculty containing planning of the workload, time-table, lectures available and synopsis of every lecture / practical. It shall also include certification of completion of syllabus at the end of term / semester and academic year. Faculty handbook shall be checked by the Head of the department and endorsed by the Principal, periodically.
2.2.2 Students’ Friendly Environment: As a policy, creation of students’ friendly environment within campus shall be the priority for benefit of the students particularly those having rural background to develop their confidence level.
2.3 Strengthening of Innovations in Teachers’ Quality
2.3.1 Organization of Seminars / Workshops / Faculty Development Programmes: The college shall continue the efforts in organizing seminars / workshops / faculty development programmes collaborating with UGC, DST, DBT, NGOs, GOs etc. for improvement of quality of faculty.
2.3.2 Deputation to Seminars / Workshops / Faculty Development Programmes: The college shall continue the policy to depute faculty for seminars / workshops / faculty development programmes organized by other institutions at different levels.
2.3.3 Evaluation of Teachers by Students:
(i) The college shall strengthen the system of evaluation of teachers by students by filling in the questionnaire, which enables teachers to develop a sense of accountability, confidence, readiness to receive criticism, develop openness, sense of introspection and accept the situations to improve their performance in teaching. Review of feedback of students’ evaluation of teachers shall be considered and suggestions shall be given to the teachers for their improvement.
(ii) The teacher-evaluation system shall benefit to students for development of listening and observation skills, analytical ability, understanding the aspects of teaching and learning, social responsibility, critical approach, consciousness about the process of teaching and learning, development of confidence and self-esteem.
(iii) The informal feedback from students shall also be taken about teaching-learning system of the college.
2.4 Self-Appraisal of Teachers
2.4.1 We shall strengthen the self-appraisal system of teachers, which shall enable them to realize their academic standard and engage them in various activities to excel in their academic performance.
2.4.2 Periodical Meetings: Meetings of faculty shall be conducted periodically for taking feedback about teaching and evaluation and checking its adherence to the lecture plan.
2.4.3 Complaint Box: We have the suggestion and complaint boxes, where students deposit their suggestions. These suggestions shall be scrutinized, periodically, and taken into account for further improvement.
2.4.4 The college shall continue the policy of felicitating and rewarding the faculty on their achievements in academics, social as well as personal life.
3. Research, Consultancy and Extension
As our college is a multi- faculty, undergraduate dominated, with some postgraduate programmes, we have a plan to promote and to inculcate research aptitude amongst learners and faculty by evolving micro level supporting, incentive based systems.
3.1 The College shall continue conducting regular meetings of the Research Committee to identify the research potential, to promote the research and to prepare the research proposals.
3.2 The college shall continue providing small scale one time research grants to faculty members for action based research as well as students.
3.3 The college shall make continuous efforts to obtain research grants from funding agencies such as UGC, ICSSR, DBT, DST, University etc.
3.4 Academic infrastructure such as instruments, laboratories, ICT facility, Library,
INFLIBNET and other requirements, as per needs for carrying out research activity shall be enhanced.
3.5 Extension activities:
3.5.1 Sports facilities shall be extended to NGOs and other associations.
3.5.2 State of gymkhana shall be constructed.
3.5.3 Physical training to the alumni and candidates appearing for police examinations shall be made available by the department of NCC.
3.5.4 The college shall provide help in maintaining the law and order during festivals to the Police department with the help of department of NCC.
3.5.5 Workshops shall be organized on acting for the orphans
3.5.7 Training programmes shall be organized on communication skills to the teachers of primary, middle and high schools through Department of English.
3.5.8 Computer literacy programmes for disadvantaged School Students, shall be organized.
4. Infrastructure and Learning Resources
4.1 Perspective Plan as regards to Infrastructure and Learning Resources shall be based on following strategic policies:
4.1.1 Continuous improvement of infrastructure and learning resources.
4.1.2 Development of additional infrastructure and learning resources.
4.1.3 Availability of adequate average area of infrastructure per student.
4.1.4 Continuous efforts to obtain grants for infrastructure development.
4.2 More specifically, practices of institution in respect to provision of infrastructure and
Learning Resources shall be as follows:
4.2.1 Established of a Cultural Museum
4.2.2 Construction of a College Guest House
4.2.3 Construction of a separate building for a Central Library of the college
4.2.4 Established a Orchid House
4.2.5 Reconstruction of the Old Building
4.2.6 Central Instrumentation Laboratory
4.2.7 Up gradation of the Day Care Centre
4.2.8 Efforts to obtain infrastructure development, moderation, up-gradation grants from various agencies and government departments.
5. Student Support and Progression
5.1 All the meritorious students from academic, NSS, NCC, cultural, sports and research activities shall be felicitated by offering cash prizes, mementos and certificates.
5.2 Additional library cards shall be provided to meritorious students.
5.3 Sport shoes, kits and other essential articles shall be provided to the students which shall involve in sports activities.
5.4 Special coaches shall be invited for different games to train the students and promote the sports.
5.5 Professionals from cultural field like choreographers, directors, musicians and artistes shall be invited to guide the students for promotion of cultural activities.
5.6 The college shall organize workshops on dance, music, theatre, fine art and literary, every year.
6. Governance and Leadership
6.1 Democratic and transparent organizational structure shall continue to be provided to direct access for free flow of ideas.
6.2 Staff welfare schemes shall be strengthened.
6.3 Effective internal control, monitoring mechanism and timely statutory audit of the accounts.
6.4 Administrative Audit
The college shall conducts administrative audit of the college about the performance in Administration in every five years. It shall be audited in every year.
7. Financial Management
For effective Financial Management following steps shall be taken:
7.1 Growth oriented budgetary allocation shall be made.
7.2 Continuous efforts to obtain development grants from funding agencies such as UGC, state and central governments etc.
8. Innovative Practices:
Dhemaji Girls’ College has an effective Quality Assurance Cell that works under the
guidance of the Principal for effective implementation of curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The institution is sensitive to the changing educational, social and market demands. The college follows several practices to promote value based education and to inculcate civic responsibilities among students. The teachers are committed for all round development of students and shall strengthen it further.
8.1 Focus shall be on innovative efforts in its academic growth. It shall be ensured that the institution displays sensitivity to changing educational, social and market demands, promotes ambience of creativity and innovation by adopting quality management strategies in all academic and administrative aspects. This is essentially required to build the Institutional image that shall not only keep the students happy and satisfied but also attract the students from far and wide.
Healthy practices:
i) A girl child shall be adopted every year and the college shall bear the financial responsibility of educating the child upto under graduate.
ii) Arrangements shall be made every year to provide free meal on a certain day to patients in
Government Hospitals
iii) A College Health Care Fund shall be established to provide one time financial help for treatment of students, teachers and non-teaching employees of the college.
iv) A disaster management team shall be constituted to enable fast and temporary logistic and other assistance to the destitute in natural disasters.
v) Periodical Cleanliness programmes shall be organized both in the vicinity of the college and in the neighbouring areas of Dhemaji town as part of the Swachch Bharat Mission
8.2 It shall be the institution’s efforts to promote value-based education, social responsibilities and good citizenry through various programmes. To get an edge over and to put the institution on
a vibrant progressive path IQAC of Dhemaji Girls’ College proposes to work on following programmes:
i) Each department and every teacher in the department shall make maximum use of ICT and web based teaching-learning.
ii) Each department shall organize one national level workshop/seminar /conference every 3 years.
